Shamila and Steph take UHY Ross Brooke to Reading Careers Fair
Shamila and Steph spent the day representing UHY Ross Brooke at the Reading careers fair. They took our stand, set up bright displays and spoke with a steady stream of students who were keen to understand what a career in accountancy can look like. The mix of ages meant they fielded plenty of questions about study routes, day to day work and how our teams support clients.
To keep things lively they ran quick games that drew people in. A few rounds of guess whether a transaction was legitimate or fraud, and a light quiz about fun tax facts kept interest high. Small giftswent down well and created an easy way to start conversations. Our branded pens, bugs and post-its travelled home in many bags.
The fair gave us a chance to talk about our training support, our offices and the varied work on offer. Shamila and Bob both said the best part was seeing students grow more confident as they talked through their plans.
Events like this help us meet the next wave of talent in person. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces again when applications open.
