Motor Neurone Disease Association sponsored walk update

Newbury accountants walking for MNDA

Loretta and Jenny walked 20km along the Kennet and Avon Canal on 22nd May. They have raised £765 so far for the local MNDA support group, for their inspirational friend, Colin.

Loretta said “Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored us in the above walk , which took place on Sunday, it was a lovely day; a bit too hot at times, but the event was well organised. We had the company of Jenny’s Dog Bo, who walked/ran all the way with us.

How to donate

They were originally aiming to raise £200, so have done amazingly. If you would still like to help them on their way, please donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/LorettaJenny

What’s MND?

With MND, messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste. MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Some people also experience changes to their thinking and behaviour. However, MND affects everyone differently. Not all symptoms will affect everyone, or in the same order. Symptoms also progress at varying speeds, which makes the course of the disease difficult to predict.

MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life and that is what the charity aims to do.

About MNDA

The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

By sponsoring us your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association.
