The Probate Office has, at times, faced challenges with processing times over recent years, which has understandably led to delays for professionals and clients alike. However, it is only fair to recognise the significant improvements that have been made in recent months.
By Jo Goulding
Having submitted a probate application on Monday and received confirmation of approval from the Probate Registry by Thursday of the same week is an exceptional turnaround and, in our experience, one of the fastest response times we have seen.
Whilst the Probate Office deserves considerable credit for these improvements, this outcome also demonstrates the importance of ensuring an application is complete, accurate and supported by all the necessary information from the outset. Well-prepared applications help avoid unnecessary queries and delays, allowing the Probate Registry to process matters as efficiently as possible.
For clients, this highlights the value of seeking professional advice when dealing with probate. Taking the time to gather the right information and submit a robust application can make a significant difference to the speed at which an estate can be administered.
Well done to the Probate Office for the progress it has made. These improvements, combined with careful preparation by us as professional advisers, help estates move forward more quickly and enable us to provide a better, more efficient service to clients during what is often a difficult and sensitive time. And huge congratulations to our wonderful probate team at UHY Ross Brooke for being so efficient.
