HMRC Offer Solicitors Tax Amnesty

HMRC now hold an enormous amount of data and powerful digital intelligence systems to identify people who have failed to pay the right amount of tax.

From 8 December 2014 to 9 June 2015 anyone working within the legal profession as a solicitor has the opportunity to inform HMRC about previously undeclared income, gains and liabilities on beneficial terms through the Solicitors’ Tax Campaign.

Full voluntary disclosure under the terms of the Campaign will ensure lower penalties than would otherwise have been payable.

This Campaign is available for a solicitor working:

  • As a self-employed sole practitioner
  • As a partner in a partnership
  • As an employee

The list is not exhaustive.

If you believe that the Solicitors’ Tax Campaign may benefit you, and would like to discuss this further, please contact our Newbury Office for an initial no obligation meeting.
