Driving productivity with Dext – Smarter accounting software

making tax digital

Ahead of Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self-Assessment (MTD ITSA) requirements from April 2024 we’re looking at how to enhance our services to our clients whilst also making their lives easier.

By Sarah Hardy

We have been using the Dext Prepare software for a little while now but knew it could do more for us and for our clients too, so we engaged with our Dext account manager Laura and trainer Lisa to provide us with a day of learning so we’re now better prepared.

For example our clients can just simply use the app to take a photo of their receipts and Invoices to send the to a digital Inbox for us to deal with.

They can also link up their accounts with existing trade suppliers and providers of regular services (telephone, utilities etc.) to the Dext ‘Fetch’ service. It will then automatically look for new invoices and add them to the digital inbox so clients don’t have to go rummaging for receipts. What a great time and stress saver, and it saves money too (as there’s no need to print invoices out, saving paper, ink, time, effort & storage space as well as the planet!)

With easier access to documents, clients’ accounting information can be more up to date, allowing us to advise on a more real-time basis which is so much better than relying on an older, historic position too.

If you want to know more about this, MTD, and other ways using Dext can benefit you and your business please contact us to discuss.
